How the Title Was Selected.

Proverbs 25:11 quotes, ‘A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.’ (KJV)

As a child Susan memorised this verse and loved its eloquence. Her messages are words aptly spoken. Her speaking ministry spanned 20 years, and since words spoken fitly once are words spoken fitly forever,  Susan chose twenty of the themes and topics that were more commonly requested, to include in her book. The metaphors of golden apples and silver pictures were a natural inclusion in the title, as the classic and timeless applications are reminiscent of golden apples. Due to speaking in numerous gorgeous locations, the word “settings” seemed a better fit and replaced the word “pictures” to give the final title “Golden Apples in Silver Settings”.
